中文摘要:依据中国A股上市制造业企业数据,考量CEO双海外背景对企业韧性的影响。结果显示:CEO双海外背景提升了企业韧性,其企业在危机期间抵抗力和恢复力更强;中介效应结果表明,降低破产风险和提升营运效率在CEO双海外背景和企业韧性之间存在中介作用;异质性分析表明,具有双海外背景的CEO对经济较发达地区、低竞争行业、高科技行业以及管理者高短视主义的企业韧性提升作用更显著。鉴于此,建议进一步完善海外背景人才支持保障机制,优化评价与激励体系,充分发挥人才关键作用。

The Impact of CEOs with Dual Overseas Backgrounds on Corporate Resilience
Abstract:Drawing on data from Chinese A-share-listed manufacturing firms, this study assesses how CEOs with a dual overseas background affect corporate resilience. Empirical results show that such CEOs significantly strengthen resilience, enabling their firms to demonstrate greater resistance and faster recovery during crises. Mediation analysis indicates that reductions in bankruptcy risk and improvements in operating efficiency mediate this positive effect. Heterogeneity tests reveal that the resilience-enhancing impact is more pronounced in firms located in economically developed regions, those operating in low-competition industries or high-technology sectors, and those characterized by pronounced managerial short-termism. Accordingly, we recommend further refining support and safeguard mechanisms for executives with overseas experience, optimizing evaluation and incentive systems, and fully harnessing the pivotal role of this human capital.
