Abstract:As a case study of the circulation industry, this article, selected the Chinese Provincial-level Panel Data from 2000 to 2015, proposed an assumption based on the hypothesis of endogenous economic growth and economic growth theory, including overall poverty reduction, internal factors, regional difference and spatial spillover in four angles, and discussed whether the development of the circulation industry effectively reduced poverty or not. The study found that: the circulation industry has a positive and significant effect on poverty reduction, and shows outstanding influence in terms of poverty reducing effects within the third industry; with regard to the internal factors of circulation industry development, the effect of poverty alleviation has significant difference, that is, the poverty reduction effect in information level is the highest, labor force and traffic investment play the secondary role, and human capital poverty reduction effect needs further research. There exists regional spatial heterogeneity in the poverty reduction effect in the circulation industry, and the poverty reduction effect in eastern areas is more significantly higher than that in central and even western regions in China; poverty reduction has significant spillover effect in the circulation industry. Based on this, we should support the construction of poverty-oriented circulation industry, improve the environment for the development of the circulation industry, and promote balanced development of the circulation industry and policy recommendations. |
